This was our first instal with the new 270w, 5 Busbar Trina Honey Panels. Impressive performance!!. At 4pm in the afternoon on a roof with a slight angle we hit 4.5kw with the 5kw Delta Inverter instantly. Trina’s new model is a massive improvement on earlier models, and we cant get enough of them. For years Trina have been one of the leading Tier One companies but at times have had quality issues. Now they have excelled themselves and the new 5 Busbar model is excellent value for money.
This installation we are trialling a new energy monitoring system from new Zealand called Power genius. The Power genius monitors you consumption and production and then has the ability to switch appliances on and off in your home.
If you are producing more solar then you are using, a wifi trigger is switched on allowing power to an appliance. This ensures the maximum amount of solar is consumed and your savings are increased.
The home is owned by John Meyer and his partner Miranda Bertrum. They are keen renewable energy proponants, and have agreed to update us regularly on the systems performance, and write occassional blogs when power bills arrive.
