Types Of Electric Car Chargers
There are three types of electric car chargers that you may choose from.
- Rapid Chargers
This type of charger is the fastest way to charge your electric vehicle. It is often found in motorway services and supplies power direct or alternating current (AC) to recharge a car’s battery as quickly as possible. Using rapid chargers, EVs can be recharged at 80% in a short span of 20 minutes. All rapid devices include charging cables tethered to a unit and can only be used on compatible vehicles. - Fast Chargers
The majority of fast chargers provide AC charging and take about 4 to 6 hours to recharge a battery. Units utilising fast chargers are either tethered or untethered which allows flexibility. - Slow Chargers
This is the most common and slowest type of charger that takes 6-12 hours of recharge for minimum usage. Many homeowners use it if they want to recharge overnight.
Should You Purchase An Electric Car Charger?
If you want to experience convenience, purchasing an electric car charger is the best option for you. An EV’s battery works like a smartphone’s battery so it’s best to use them at nearly full battery. By doing so, you’re extending the life span of your battery, thus, avoids unplanned expenses. Having your own EV charger is more cost-effective as well. If you own one, you can maximise your solar system and save money.
Why burn fossil fuels and spend money on petrol when it is free from the sun? Having an electric car charger allows you to live cheaper, greener and smarter. We are here to create uniquely tailored solutions as we live by a code of ethics, using only quality products.
