SolaX Hybrid Inverters
SolaX hybrid inverters run your solar panels, a SolaX battery and your backup power from one box: the X1-VAST for single phase homes, and the X3-HYB-G4 PRO or the larger X3-ULTRA for three phase. They are also what connects SolaX's Binary vehicle-to-home charger to your house.
Key Features
- X1-VAST, single phase: 5, 6, 8 and 10 kW, with three solar inputs (MPPTs) on the 5 and 6 kW and four on the 8 and 10 kW
- X3-HYB-G4 PRO, three phase: 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 15 kW, with two or three solar inputs
- X3-ULTRA, three phase: 15, 19.9, 20, 25 and 30 kW, which SolaX makes for businesses as well as homes
- Up to 200% solar oversizing on all three: up to twice the inverter's size in panels, such as 20 kW of panels on a 10 kW X1-VAST
- Pairs with the SolaX HS51 battery (5.1 kWh modules). SolaX says an X1-VAST takes up to eight of them (40.9 kWh)
- Two battery ports, so storage can be added later
- Switches to backup in under 10 milliseconds. On backup it supplies up to its own size, and twice that for 10 seconds to start big appliances. Backup needs a battery connected
- The X1-VAST is designed to back up the whole home, up to 63 A, without extra devices
- Works with SolaX's Binary vehicle-to-home charger: the X1-VAST and X3-HYB-G4 PRO now. For the X3-ULTRA, SolaX says support is on the way, so ask us
- IP66 rated, and SolaX rates all three to run from −35 to 60°C (above 45°C they turn their output down to protect themselves)
- Every size of all three that SolaX lists for Australia is on the Clean Energy Council's approved inverter list
- 10-year SolaX warranty on all three
Which SolaX inverter, and what it does
If your home is single phase, it's the X1-VAST. If it has three phase power, it's the X3-HYB-G4 PRO, or the X3-ULTRA for a bigger property. We check your switchboard before we quote.
Each one is a hybrid: it runs your solar panels, a SolaX HS51 battery and your backup power from the one box, and it has two battery ports, so storage can be added to later.
It is also the link for SolaX's Binary charger. The charger charges your car from your solar, and with a car that supports vehicle-to-load (V2L), it can send power from the car back through the inverter to run the house, including in a blackout. That works with the X1-VAST and X3-HYB-G4 PRO now. For the X3-ULTRA, SolaX says support is on the way, so ask us whether it's ready yet.
What it does in a blackout
When the grid fails, the inverter switches to backup by itself in under 10 milliseconds and runs the house from your solar and battery, solar first. You need a battery for this: SolaX rates the backup output with a battery connected.
SolaX's Australian wiring guides for all three inverters show whole-home backup, where the whole switchboard stays on, or partial backup, where only the circuits you choose do. The backup output is the inverter's own size, with twice that for 10 seconds. That short boost matters: SolaX notes fridges draw three to five times their running power to start, and air conditioners three to six.
In SolaX's everyday Self use mode the battery runs down to its set minimum, and from there the inverter won't switch to backup if the grid then fails. Backup mode keeps more charge in reserve, and SolaX suggests switching to it before an outage you can see coming. SolaX also says medical equipment must not be connected to the backup supply.
The three SolaX inverters side by side
The big difference is your power supply: single phase or three phase. After that it's size, which we match to your roof, your power use and your battery.

Solar inputs (MPPTs) let panels facing different directions each work at their best. Backup output is SolaX's rating with a battery connected; the 10-second boost is what gets motors such as fridges and air conditioners started.
