Solar for Rental Properties
Smart landlords are adding solar to their investment properties. Boost your rental yield, attract quality tenants, and claim depreciation, all while your tenants enjoy lower power bills.
There Is Up to $3,500 on the Table for Rentals
Queensland's Supercharged Solar for Renters program opened on 12 December 2025 and pays eligible landlords up to $3,500 to put solar on a rental. Most landlords have no idea it exists. It runs until the funding is used up, so it is worth getting in early.
Who Qualifies
- Up to $3,500 off a solar system on an eligible Queensland rental.
- The property is rented for $1,000 a week or less.
- It is a Class 1a dwelling: a house, townhouse or duplex, individually metered.
- There is a tenancy agreement in place, and your tenant consents.
- The property has no existing solar and is not in an embedded network.
- The system is designed and installed by SAA accredited people, which ours are.
What Is an Embedded Network?
It is a private power network inside a complex, such as an apartment block, retirement village, caravan park or some townhouse estates. The whole site has one connection to the grid, and the owner, the body corporate or a company working for them buys power in bulk and on-sells it to each home through sub-meters. A quick test: if the power bill comes from the body corporate, the site manager or an embedded network company rather than a normal energy retailer, the property is probably in one. If you are not sure, ask the body corporate or building manager. Homes in an embedded network cannot get this rebate.
How It Works
1.Get a Quote from Us
It has to be dated after 12 December 2025, which is when the program opened. An older quote does not qualify, so if you have one sitting in a drawer, ask us for a fresh one.
2.Apply for Conditional Approval
You apply as the landlord, with your tenant's consent and our quote. We will help you put the paperwork together.
3.Wait for Approval Before We Install
This is the one that catches people. If the system goes on the roof before conditional approval comes back, the rebate is gone. We will not book an install until you have it.
4.We Install, Then You Claim Final Approval
Once it is done and signed off, you submit for final approval and the rebate is paid.
We are a solar installer, not the program administrator. The eligibility rules and the funding are the Queensland Government's, and the final decision on any application is theirs. What we do is give you a dated quote that qualifies, help you through the paperwork, and hold off installing until you have conditional approval. Full details are on the Queensland Government program page, or ask us and we will walk you through it.

Benefits for Everyone
Benefits for Landlords
Increase Property Value
Solar is a capital improvement to your investment property, and lower power bills are something tenants and buyers notice when they compare places.
Attract Better Tenants
Tenants actively seek properties with solar: it means lower electricity bills. A solar-equipped rental stands out in a competitive market and reduces vacancy periods.
Tax Deductions
As an investment property expense, solar installations can be depreciated over their effective life. Consult your accountant about instant asset write-off eligibility for your rental.
Benefits for Tenants
Lower Electricity Bills
Tenants benefit from free daytime solar energy, significantly reducing quarterly power bills without any upfront cost to them.
Greater Comfort
With lower energy costs, tenants can run air conditioning, heating, and appliances more freely, improving quality of life without bill shock.
Win-Win
You build equity and claim deductions. Your tenants save on power. Everyone benefits.
